About Me
I was born and raised on a farm in rural southern middle Tennessee. Growing up, my life was filled with animals and open spaces. After being graduated from Columbia Academy, I earned a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. I spent a number of years in creative pursuits working with artists of varied disciplines, including my role as stage manager for Tennessee Dance Theatre. Starting in college, friends reached out to me to rub their shoulders, since I seemed to know how to do it right, and I enjoyed doing it. After Tennessee established a licensure for massage therapy in 1997, I decided to pursue it formally.
I completed certification as a massage therapist in December, 1998, from Cumberland Institute of Holistic Therapies in Brentwood, Tennessee. I was licensed by the State of Tennessee in January, 1999, license #1414. Since that time, I have continued my study of massage therapies through an ongoing series of seminars and workshops.
